It has been five years since the release of 'La Raza' and the mighty Armored Saint are back with a new record chock full of more classic Heavy Rock/Metal anthems. Much like 'La Raza'; 'Win Hands Down' is built on a chassis of Modern Rock song structures. There is still that classic Metal vibe, but this record is less inspired by NWOBHM as it is by the Heavy Rock of today. With that said; 'Win Hands Down' is another timeless album of songs that will endure when the next fad has come and gone. My favorite singer of all time – Mr. John Bush sounds amazing and he still has some of the greatest vocal pipes around. The combination of Joey Vera's song writing prowess and Bush's from-the-heart lyricism is brilliant. These two guys make a great writing team. The record contains some of The Saint's longest songs ever and there's a beautiful piano inspired ballad as well. The mid-tempo tracks rock with elegant ferocity; with one of them containing a guest appearance by Pearl Aday (wife of Scott Ian). Her vocal performance compliments John's voice wonderfully. So freakin psyched to have new music from one of the greatest American Metal bands of all time and equally psyched for the guys to be doing more touring this time around in support of this new record.
