Bloody Hammers 'Spiritual Relics' out Oct. 1

American doomsters Bloody Hammers have completed work on their sophomore LP, Spiritual Relics. The follow up to the North Carolina occult metal band's critically celebrated, eponymously titled debut, Spiritual Relics will be released worldwide Oct 1 via Soulseller Records and boasts ten brand new tracks revolving around classic horror, stories from the local coven, and chilling evil.

Produced by frontman / bassist Anders Manga, Spiritual Relics builds on the wall of sound Bloody Hammers created on their debut, a record hailed as "
something special, hidden, trashy, brilliant, underground, and mainstream all at once" by yours truly. Named in homage to the singular Roky Erickson & The Aliens song of the same name, Bloody Hammers' hallucinatory heavy music has been called as catchy as it is dark.

The band is also hitting the road for its first North American and European live dates, kicking off next week with a pre-release U.S. trek alongside like-minded acts Ancient VVisdom and The Saint James Society and gigs with Weedeater, Ken Mode, and more. The band has also been hand-picked by former Pantera and current Down frontman Phillip Anselmo to perform as a featured act at the inaugural Housecore Horror Film Festival, October 24-27 in Austin, Tex. Other bands slated to appear over the course of the 3-day fest include Down, Goblin, Eyehategod, Pig Destroyer, and Repulsion..

"We didn't have any live shows booked when our self-titled album was released," said Manga. "It was much more successful than anticipated, so we went back into the studio while waiting for tour dates to be confirmed. We're very pleased with the result and look forward to getting it out to the fans. The album is packed with more heavy fuzzed out eeriness and horror, as well as some chilled-out creepy southern gothic pieces. It will be released just in time for Halloween, and our Housecore Horror performance."
